Lucille DeCoursin Obituary
Lucille "Lu" M. DeCoursin, age 89, of Ashwaubenon, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her residence. She was born on September 19, 1924, to the late Nicholas and Esther (Thoma) Schmidt in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Lu served her county in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On December 31, 1946, she married John "Jack" DeCoursin in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1995.
Lu cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, fishing and golfing. Lu was always optimistic and inspirational to those who knew her. She was very social and had a quick wit. Lu was an avid Packer fan. She was a devout Lutheran and a longtime member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Lu enjoyed volunteering at Bethesda Thrift store and Paul's Pantry over the years. Lu will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her five children, Dale (Schila) DeCoursin, Jane (Steve) Swanson, Paul (Beverly) DeCoursin, Mary (Terry) Woodke and Sandra (Jim) Paulick; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie (Robert) Abresch and Rosalie Roloff. Lu is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Schmidt and her brother-in-law, Calvin Roloff.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, from 3:00 pm until the memorial service at 5:00 pm with Rev. Scott Malme officiating. Inurnment will be at Fort Howard Mausoleum. Memorials given will be donated to the American Diabetes Association in Lu's name. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
