Matuszak, Marlene

Marlene V. Matuszak, 72, of Isaar, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital with her family by her side. She was born May 17, 1942 daughter of the late Earl and Viola (Tappa) Luedke.

On May 18, 1963 she was united in marriage to Norbert E. Matuszak.

She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar where she was active in the Christian Mothers, Eucharistic Minister, church choir and church housekeeping duties; and a member of Seymour American Legion Auxiliary. Marlene was employed at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and then Seymour School District in housekeeping until her retirement. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. Marlene loved time spent with her family and a good Polka. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and the "Deer Hunters Widows Weekend".

She is survived by her husband Norbert; children: Michael (Barb) Heuser, Gary (Audrey) Matuszak, Greg (Jill) Matuszak, Brian (Ann) Matuszak, Kevin Matuszak, Lisa (Mark) Madison, Tammy Matuszak, Perry Matuszak; grandchildren: Jennifer and Andrew Heuser, Michael and Kari Matuszak, Brittany and Taylor Matuszak, Marissa Matuszak, Adam (Stacy) Madison and Paige Madison; great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Madoxx; sister, Doris (Bob) Willis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: La Verne Kons, Phyllis Matuszak, Eleanor Zakowski, Dorothy Kons, Alice Vanden Langenberg, Ralph (Anna Mae) Matuszak, Barbara Socha, Jo Anne (Bill) Vanden Langenberg, Marilyn (Alvin) Socha, Ronald Matuszak, Deacon Richard (Margie) Matuszak.

Preceded in death by sisters: Patti Luedke and Mary (Ken) De Ruyter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roger Zakowski, Joe Socha, Larry Vanden Langenberg, Le Roy (Diane) Matuszak, Norman Kons, Bernard Kons, Harvey Matuszak, Donald Matuszak, Joan Matuszak, Mary Matuszak.

Friends may call at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 4-8 with a American Legion Auxiliary service at 7:15 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and will continue at the church on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11 a.m. with Father Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com.

Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to Restoring Hope Transplant House or St. Jude's Hospital.
