Charles Yoakum Obituary

FAIRBORN — Charles R. "Richard" Yoakum, age 71 of West Carrollton, passed away Monday January 2, 2017. He was born January 30, 1945 in Greene Co., Ohio, the son of the late James Robert and Helen Louise (Bellows) Yoakum. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Richard was a member of the Wright View Church of the Nazarene and he enjoyed working on cars, repairing computers and playing with his grandson, Hunter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wayne Yoakum, 4 siblings, Irene Mae Silcott, Robert Lewis Yoakum, Mary Ellen Yeaton, Dorothy Kay Hill; and a great-granddaughter, Catherine Mary Long. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; 2 children, Vivian Nannette (Corey) Araujo, Charles Andrew (Sonya) Yoakum, 3 grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Long, Danielle Araujo, Hunter Yoakum; 2 brothers, William Roger (Sandra) Yoakum, Kenneth Earl (July) Yoakum; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family to include Jennifer Banks and Taylor Squires. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 6, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Ryan Riddell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow with military honors at the Byron Cemetery.
