FAIRBORN — Cortis (Cort) H. Adkins of Fairborn, Ohio made his transition, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. He was 88. He was born October 7, 1932, in Morgan County, Kentucky, the son of Mitch and Ada Mae (Wilson) Adkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rhodella C. (Snider) Adkins, and his sister, Joyce D. Adkins. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jeannie Adkins of Greenfield, Indiana; his son, Don Adkins of Fairborn, Ohio; his grandsons, Michael, Jacob, Noah and Luke Adkins; his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Dallas and Rosemary Adkins of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Ven and Ellen Adkins of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Cort was a graduate of Fairborn High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired from Civil Service at Wright Patterson AFB. He was a very generous person, willing to share his knowledge and resources with others. He had an extraordinary memory of people, places and happenings, and always loved telling stories of family, friends and acquaintances. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and those who knew him. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for their tender, dedicated care during his final days. Cort donated his remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at Wright State University School of Medicine.
