XENIA — Don Eric Dixon, age 65, of Xenia OH, passed away on November 21, 2022. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00am, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at New Seasons Ministry 5711 Shull Rd, Huber Heights, OH 45424. Funeral services will be held 11:00am-12:00pm, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at New Seasons Ministry in Huber Heights, OH with the Reverend Ken O Johnson of New Seasons Ministry, officiating. Burial will follow at Massies Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Donald Jordon Memorial Chapel. Don was born in Nashville TN to Robert Dixon and Clara Spann on February 12, 1957. Don was a graduate of Virginia State University where he earned a B.S. in Agronomy. While attending VSU he was a Cadet Corporal of the Army ROTC and was initiated into the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. After graduation he became a Mason of M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge Virginia. He served his community as a Park Ranger for one year, and then began his life's work as a Petersburg, VA Police Officer, a post he served for 28 years. After his retirement, Don took to the outdoors to pursue his passion for biking, fishing, and gardening. Don was a gifted craftsman and flier of radio-controlled planes with the Miami Valley RC Club. Don was a walking encyclopedia; he flew planes and he knew things! He would light up like a kid on Christmas morning at any opportunity to share his knowledge and joy for all things outdoors and planes. Having accepted Christ at an early age, Don was a dedicated member of New Seasons Ministry, where he served faithfully on the Fly & Fish Ministry and Men's Ministry. A loyal and devoted husband, Don was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Mrs. Deborah Ann (Williams) Dixon on September 27, 2008. Together, they shared a love of music, art, and travel. He will be remembered by wife Deborah Dixon and her children; sister Faye Ragland-Dixon and her husband Dan Ragland of Davis CA; brother Steve Dixon, his wife Michelle Dixon and their children of Wilberforce OH; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins the Spann family of Nashville TN; and friends.
