John Stanforth Obituary

XENIA — John Phillip Stanforth, 87, resident of Ocean Isle Beach, NC died November 5, 2016. Born in Greene County, OH on October 16, 1929, he was the son of the late John B. and Sylvia Gildow Stanforth. Surviving are his wife Mary Glass Stanforth, two daughters Sheri Lynn Stanforth, Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Jeri Sue Pitstick (Ted), Wallace, NC, two sisters Mary Pitstick, St Cloud, FL and Linda Lanker, Xenia, OH, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Gene Stanforth. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 3:00 pm, in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials in his name may be directed to the Lower Cape Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or The American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Avenue, Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.
