XENIA — Lawrence "Larry" T. O'Connor, 87, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Traditions of Beavercreek. He was born December 29, 1933, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of John and Helen Walsh O'Connor. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and retired from DP & L (30 years) and WPAFB (12 years) as a lineman. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and rooting for his Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (equally). He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cain) O'Connor, whom he married May 14, 1960, a son, Matthew O'Connor, Alexandria, VA, three daughters, Brigid O'Connor, Beavercreek, Mary Alice (Kevin) Akins, Plain City, and Kathleen (John) Stebbins, Miamisburg, daughter-in-law, Amy (James) Maurer, Charlottesville, VA, and the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren James, Carlin, McKenzie, Ellie, Matthew, Will, Mia, Molly and Emily. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Carol Melanson, Dottie Cain, Karen Cain, Janice O'Connor and numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by a son, John Maurice O'Connor, his parents, two sisters, Mary Ellen Schaumleffel, and Kathleen I. Wolary, and by twin brothers, Maurice "Marty" O'Connor and John J. "Jack" O'Connor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, February 23, in St. Brigid Cemetery, Xenia, with Fr. Andrew Cordonnier officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Brigid Memorial Program, 258 Purcell Ave., Xenia, OH, 45385, Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, or to a favorite charity in his memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com. Due to Covid-19, the family is asking that all in attendance wear masks and social distance.
