Charles Peck Obituary
Rev. Peck was born in Ripley, N.Y., on Aug. 9, 1929. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 52 years, Audrey, three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his four children: Charles L. Peck, Jr., of Punta Gorda; Jerry W. Peck (Mimi), of North Carolina; Dennis C. Peck (Brenda), of Port Charlotte and Margie A. Abbott, of Gainesville, Fla. He is also survived by nine granddaughters, 18 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.
A veteran of World War II, his life was spent in the service of others, first as a Civil Service Power Lineman in New York State, then as a Master Electrician. Feeling the call to enter the ministry in 1965, he sold everything and attended Emory University, eventually earning his Master of Divinity degree. He served many churches throughout Florida until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he continued to perform volunteer work until health issues forced him to slow down.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
Lovingly known as "Pastor Charlie," he was greatly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
