Born: December 12, 1967 | Died: March 25, 2025
Charles Britton, age 57, of Baileyton passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at his home. He was a member of Miller's Chapel Church. Mr. Britton worked as a school bus driver and custodian at Baileyton Elementary School for the past 8 years. He also was a licensed auctioneer and had worked at the Baileyton Restaurant. His family remembers him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Mr. Britton is survived by his wife of 25 years: Lisa Britton; a daughter: Grace Britton; a son and daughter-in-law: Noah and Makayla Britton; a granddaughter: Paisley Britton; his mother: Elizabeth " Joanna" Britton; three sisters: Karen and Hartsell Cutshall, Mary and Dwayne Rector, and Barbara Cole Britton; two brothers: David and Barbara Britton and Roger Britton; his aunt: Linda Swatzell; an uncle: Bobby Britton; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by an infant grandchild and his father: Kyle Britton.
The Britton family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 30, 2025 in the Chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Cooper, Rev. Jonathan Jones, and Rev. Chris Blake will be officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Baileyton.
Pallbearers will include Seth Morgan, Jimmy "Frog" Lawson, Hartsell "Hall" Cutshall, Noah Britton, Dwayne Rector, and Michael Whipp.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Britton, Roger Britton, The Staff of Baileyton Elementary School and his fellow bus drivers, and his auctioneer friends.
