E. Strange Obituary

Dr. E Brad Strange, 71, of Greeneville, passed away at Parkwest Medical Center.

Dr. Strange graduated from Two Rivers High School in Donelson, graduated from the University of Tennessee Martin, and attended medical school at The University of Tennessee.

In his early years, Dr. Strange was an Eagle Scout, lifeguard, and enjoyed fishing and camping with his father.

He moved to Greeneville with his wife, Teresa Hughes Strange, in the early 1980s to start his family practice. He would become the Chief of Staff at Laughlin Memorial Hospital and was a member of the American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, and the Greene County Medical Society among other medical associations. Dr. Strange was a teaching physician with East Tennessee State and the University of Tennessee, training many medical students over the years. He retired in 2021. He loved his patients. Many members of this community were delivered or saved at the hands of Dr. Brad Strange. We will never truly know the amount of people who received care from him pro bono.

Dr. Strange was always giving back to the Greene County community. He was a member of the Greeneville Kiwanis Club for 35 years where he was an original member of the Kapers Dancers, longtime supporter and donor of the Greene County YMCA board, and a founding member of the Heritage Community Bank board.

He was a passionate fan of University of Tennessee athletics and an avid golfer. He always enjoyed his golf trips with his group "The Posse", where he always had his doctor bag in tow to keep the group performing at the top of their game.

Dr. Strange was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church where he would often lead prayer and loved his church family.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Liberty Strange of Atlanta; granddaughter: Lillian Strange; his partner: Ann Socha; one brother: Thomas J. Strange of Nashville; and special cousins: Roger and Barbara Elliott, and Terry Elliott

He was a son of the late Ernest Roger and JoElla Strange.

The family expresses a special thanks to his caregivers, Kathy, Linda and Debby.
