Karen Zimmerman

Karen Jane Zimmerman, age 83, of Chuckey, TN, formerly of Verona, NJ died peacefully on September 7, 2025.

Karen was born in Los Angeles, California to Wolfgang (Rudy) Daniels and Anne (Richardson) Foster. She was raised by her father and paternal grandparents, and later by her stepmom, Rosine (Betty) Daniels. She moved to Oakland, California and later attended college in Montana and New Jersey. While attending Montclair State College in NJ, she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Zimmerman. Karen and Bob raised their family in Verona, NJ. She achieved her MBA and was a clinical dietician, working at Green Hill Senior Living in West Orange before retiring to Chuckey, TN twenty-eight years ago. It was there that Karen found her passion for quilting, becoming a member (one time President) of the Old Town Quilters Guild of Jonesborough and then member (one time Chairperson) of the Greeneville Newcomers and Neighbors Quilt Group. She was active in her churches, the First Presbyterian Church in Verona and the Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, TN.

Along with her husband Bob, she is survived by her daughter Jennifer Quade (Nicholas), her son Jeffrey (Carol), her three grandsons, Justin, Luke, and Thomas, her devoted four-legged companion, Molly, her sister Linda (Cal) Van Niewaal and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 14th. Visitation is from 1:00 – 2:30, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm.
