Naomi Hackmann Obituary

Naomi Ruth Hackmann

Died: February 10, 2025

Naomi Ruth Hackmann, 94, of Greeneville, formerly of New Jersey, died peacefully Monday.

She retired after many years of administrative work. After her retirement, she strived to live her life to the fullest by checking adventures off her bucket list. These included traveling all over the United States and Europe. In her 80s and 90s, she went zip-lining, sky diving, air gliding, and on a pub tour in Ireland. She's known for her spunky personality, fabulous nails, blue hair, and always telling people "do NOT behave." She knew no strangers, accepted everyone for who they are, and befriended all she encountered.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Joann Lorch of Greeneville and Christine (John) Ciardi of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Karrie (Chuck) Evans and Kristin Ball; great-grandchildren: Jake Lasko, Sophie Ball, and Addi Lasko; and numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors also include very dear friends: Tim Castle, Tracy Solomon, Amy Saxonmeyer, Marsha Griffith, Shawn Wilson, and Logan Plaster.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years: Henry John Hackmann; her parents: Christian and Hilda Knudsen; a son-in-law: Bill Lorch; and a sister: Hilda Owen.

The Hackmann family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in Doughty-Stevens Chapel.
