Terry L. Pruitt, 66, of Mosheim, died Friday evening at his home.
He was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Pruitt retired from Greeneville Light & Power after more then 20 years of service.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved all of his family.
He enjoyed many sports throughout his life and loved playing golf with all of his golfing buddies.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife: Sandy Sams Pruitt; a daughter and son-in-law: Brittany and Tyler Dixon; a grandson: Tucker Rhett Dixon; two sisters: Janet Wampler, and Lori and Terry Chappell; four nephews: Chad and Angie Wampler, Jacob and Miranda Bolinger, Derek and Chelsea Sams, and Ethan and Emily Sams; two great-nieces: Campbell and Charli Sams; three great-nephews: Tyler and Taylor Wampler, Zackary and Catie Wampler, and Austin Wampler; two sisters-in-law: Debbie Sams and Sherry Arrington; a brother-in-law: Rick and Melinda Sams; and all of his special friends.
Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents: John and Dorothy Pruitt; and three brothers-in-law: Doug Wampler, Mike Sams, and Anthony Arrington.
The Pruitt family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Richard Long will be officiating.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet by 10 a.m. at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home to go in procession.
Pallbearers will include Tyler Wampler, Zackary Wampler, Austin Wampler, Jacob Bolinger, Derek Sams, Ethan Sams, Rick Sams and Jeff Pruitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Greeneville Light & Power, and all of his golfing buddies.
