Dale Kuhn Obituary

Dale L. Kuhn, 81 years, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away on Sunday evening, August 31st, 2025, at Springhurst Health Facility surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born on March 4, 1944, in Toledo Ohio to Melvin and Ernestine Kuhn. He grew up in Alton, Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University.

Dale married Carolyn Emmmert on April 20, 1974 in Beech Grove, and together they shared 51 years of marriage. He worked as a Quality Control Engineer for Allison Transmission and International Harvester until retirement in 2003.

Dale will be remembered as a project man. His love of working on cars, woodworking, and always finding a home improvement adventure. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army earning several medals of accommodation. Dale loved traveling to his country's many National Parks and making friends at the various campgrounds along the way.

Dale is survived by his wife Carolyn Kuhn, his son Sean Kuhn (Melinda), his Daughter Amy Heithoff (Matthew) and three granddaughters Callee, Faith, Morgan Heithoff, and also his older sister Gwen Scorfina. He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brother Harold Kuhn.

A visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Greenfield (1450 West Main St. Greenfield) on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 4-6pm with his funeral immediately following. A private military honors scattering of Dale's ashes will follow on a separate date and time.
