Bernard William (Bud) Frosh, 95, of the Sedgefield Country Club community in Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully at his beloved home on July 17, 2021.

A member of "The Greatest Generation," Bud was born September 6, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Harry Frosh and Caroline Steinem Frosh. Bud was a US Army veteran, having served in the last horse-mounted US Calvary regiment. He attended Ohio State University and enjoyed a successful career in the home furnishings industry that spanned over 80 years. At a very early age, he began in the family Frosh Furniture business in Columbus, Ohio, then Burdine's Department Store in Palm Beach, Florida, and ultimately as a highly successful independent upholstery fabric salesman in North Carolina. He was proudest of his professional sales career at Doblin Mills in Morganton, NC. For those who might remember, Bud was to the fabric industry what Plato Wilson was to the furniture industry.....a consummate professional who knew his product as well as his customer, with a fierce and loyal dedication to both.

Among many fine character traits to those who knew him, Bud will be remembered for his strong work ethic (still selling on the road well into his age 80's), his dry wit, his respect for his competitors, his knowledge of his profession, his genuine love of his customers (acknowledging their personal milestones of marriage, childbirth, promotion, retirement, and funeral attendances for countless of these), and his standard wardrobe of a navy blazer, blue Oxford cloth button-down collar shirt, repp tie (repetitive woven ribs of silk fabric in stripe pattern), khaki pants, and impeccably brown polished shoes. As his success evolved, his personally purchased company car was always a black diesel Mercedes-Benz, a luxury he afforded himself due to so many miles traveled in the course of his being an independent fabric salesman. Perhaps to announce his "slowing down" of his sales career, he changed the car exterior color in 2012 to Indian Brown. The ability to drive and live independently were among his top desires in his last years of life. This Bud was very blessed to do up until the last month of his living.

His coveted caregiver in this last month, Shay, was his last real developed friendship, among countless in his 95 years of life.

Bud is survived by his only sibling, beloved sister Barbara (Babe) and her husband, Howard (Arlo), of Bethesda, Md., nieces Susan Ader of Rockville, Md., and Beth Eisman of Potomac, Md.

At Bud's request, there was no funeral, nor will there be any memorial service.
