Ed Hooker passed from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
Ed was a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School, Ramseur, N.C. also a graduate of North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro, N.C. He was a Master Barber at E-Style Barber Shop, Greensboro, N.C.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro.
Visitation with Family Present on Monday from 12 until 1 p.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist church.
A Walk- through Public Viewing on Monday from 10:15 until 11:45 a.m. at New Light Baptist Church.
A walk-through Public Viewing on Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Service, 102 South Kirkman Street, Liberty, NC.
Ed leaves precious memories to his wife, Kimberly Hooker of the home; his mother, Hersie Butler Hooker, of Staley; his daughter, Iris Hooker, of Jamestown; his brother, Alan Hooker (Wendy), of High Point; his sisters, Michelle Hooker Ravenell (Darrell), of Staley, Laura Jackson (Vincent), of Willingboro, NJ and Teri Hooker, of Staley; three grandchildren: London Robey, Landon Hooker, and Lauryn Hooker.

Ed Hooker was my barber for several years. He kept my "Grace Jones Egyptian Wedge" tight & right. He was a great guy with a smile that could light up any room. And he was always impeccably dressed! My Sincere Condolences to his Family, Friends and Former Clients.

Ed Hooker was my barber for several years. He kept my "Grace Jones Egyptian Wedge" tight & right. He was a great guy whose smile lit up a room and was one of The Best Dressed men ever!. My sincere Condolences to his family and friends.

I loved Ed Hooker like a brother and is deeply saddened by his passing.
He had become my barber and I became his personal trainer and friend when he initially got sick. He would always ask about my sons and I would would ask about his loved ones.
Due to Covid, we lost connection.
However, prior, although annoying at times because of his great love for A&T and shading my school NCCU, we grew as great friends.
He is a legend and was a great guy
