John James Obituary

Stoneville John "Carl" James, 84, of Stoneville, passed away early Thursday morning, July 31, 2014, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, at Trinity Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.Mr. James was born August 4, 1929 in Stokes County, NC, to the late Rollen James and Dona Parker James. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War. Mr. James was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills with 35 years of service.He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lamb and husband, Mike, of Stokesdale; son, Dennis James and wife, Melia, of Reidsville; two grandchildren, Danny Dix of Jamestown and Kellye Dix of Eden; brothers, Donnie James and wife, Pat, of Summerfield, Frank James and wife, Blanch of Clayton, and Joe James of California; sister, Linda Fulk of Sylva; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Preston" Meadows James.The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.fairfuneralhome.com
