JAMESTOWN LINDA PAULINE WESTON MARSH OF Jamestown, NC, 73, passed away December, 11 2015 at Hospice Home of High Point due to complications from cerebral amyloid angiopathy. A celebration of life will be held at Archdale Friends Meeting on Monday, December 14 at 11:00AM. Visitation will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.She was born May 7, l942 in High Point, NC to Rhonda Van Alton Weston and Pauline Wall Weston who both preceded her in death. She was a member of Archdale Friends Meeting. A graduate of Trinity High School and High Point College; she was a former English and History teacher at Jamestown Junior High and Sumner School.She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years Leon Carr Marsh. Other survivors are daughters, Sheree Crane (Tom) of Jamestown, NC, Page Marsh (George Tarantini) of Raleigh, NC, Amber Elliott (Jeff) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Sydney Crane of Durham, NC, Lucie Crane of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Lily Crane of Jamestown, NC, Emma and Rachel Lea of Raleigh, NC, Justin Elliott of Greensboro,NC; sister Jane Oakley (Eddie), brothers Jimmy Weston (Pat) of Avon, NC, and Ronnie Weston (Peggy) of Longs, SC; and many nieces and nephews.Linda loved family, golf, reading, books, flowers, history and travel. She was a member of The Jamestown Modern Book Club, The High Point Literary League, the Rose Society, and was a former ambassador for the Friendship Force. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Golf and family were her greatest passions in life. Her daughters knew they were well loved, however, only her grandchildren were offered ice cream for breakfast. She passed her love of playing golf to all her family and was their greatest fan wherever they competed. The family's annual Christmas morning golf tourney at Lake Wales CC, Florida was a great source of joy to her especially if she were on the winning team. Linda competed in events locally and throughout the country. She was a former CGA campion, winning the women's four-ball championship three times. She loved to compete, but took even greater pleasure in watching and supporting her children and grandchildren in their golf efforts.She served the game of golf in the Carolinas and nationally . Linda held positions on the board of the Women's Carolinas Golf Association and the NC Women's Golf Association. She organized junior girls' golf for twelve years in the Carolinas. Nationally, she served on various USGA committees for 15 years until retiring from the Women's Committee in 2005 .The family would like to thank the ICU at High Point Regional Hospital for their excellent care of Linda in May and again recently. Words cannot express the gratitude the family feels for the staff of the Hospice Home for making her final days peaceful.
