Melvin Riley, 92, of Summerfield, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Countryside Village in Stokesdale.
No services are planned at this time.
Melvin was a native of Guilford County. He served in the US Army 1951-1953. He went on to retire from Cone Mills, Inc. Following retirement, he moved to Emerald Isle, where he resided for twenty-six years.
He is survived by his wife, Ava M. Riley of the home; stepdaughters, Kathy C. Miller of Greensboro, Dawn C. Johnson of Todd, NC, and Patty C. Triche of Colfax; brother, Harold Gene Riley of Reidsville; and niece, Kay Berkeley of Gibsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Countryside Village for their compassionate care.
