Michael Shaffer Obituary

SANDY RIDGE Michael Lee "Mike" Shaffer, 69, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2017, at his home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. Mike was born December 27, 1947, in Rockingham County, to Ruth Wilkins Shaffer and the late Bobby Lee Shaffer. He was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and was retired from Parkdale, Inc. He loved his horses and enjoyed riding them. Survivors include his mother, Ruth Shaffer; special aunt, Jeannie Shaffer Pulliam, special cousins, Danny Shaffer and Rob Wilkins; and special friend, Jean Gann. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Cemetery, C/o Juanita Joyce, 1693 NC 770 Hwy, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046 or Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8011 NC Hwy. 704, Madison, NC 27025. Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family. Online condolences may be offered at www.colonialfh.net.
