Richard Richardson Obituary

MAYODAN Richard Green Richardson, Sr., 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, left his earthly home Friday, January 12, 2018, at Annie Penn Hospital. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church with funeral services following at 6 p.m. Friends will be received other times at the residence. Interment will be held Monday in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. Born in Stokes County on June 29, 1931, to the late Elisha Franklin Richardson and Emma Wright Richardson, Richard was retired from Unifi, Inc. He attended the Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Sophia Turner, Nicholas Craddock, and Samantha Lewellyn; brother, Joe Richardson and sisters, Judy Dodson and Bertie Richardson. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gale Martin Richardson; children, Ricky Richardson, Jr., Cindy Johnson (Franklin), Joy Lewellyn (Jerry), and Julie Sizemore (Donnie); brother, Leonard Richardson, sister, Frances Jordan; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, Box 84, Stoneville, NC 27048. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family. Condolences may be offered at www.colonialfh.net.
