Sandine Wilson Obituary

Wilson, Sandine K.

February 23, 1935 - July 3, 2021

For 86 years the world was graced with a kind, loving, intelligent, faithful, sparkling blue eyed firecracker. Sandine K. Wilson is now the life of the party up in heaven. She joined her first husband, Bob Beer, her parents, George and Hjordis Kruge, and her sister Pheobe Pfaehler for the ultimate celebration in the sky. And I know they are having a grand old time.

This amazing woman left behind her devoted husband Bob, spelled with one "o" not two. He always made her laugh when he said that. Earlier this year they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren by their side. Her loving daughter Jennifer, her husband Maxton, and children Aliya and Laith. She also has 4 step children, Audrey and her husband Tom, Rob and his wife Melissa, Lee and her husband David, and Caroline and her husband David. She had a whopping total of 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She often laughed and said that wasn't bad for a woman who never had any biological children of her own.

Mom graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in interior design. She worked for many years in New York for top notch clients. Her strong understanding of style and color were a great asset. She was such a sharp business woman. For many years she worked as a business broker. It was her calling to help people. She loved assisting people to their perfect fit. And she was so good at it.

Oh how Mom loved the water. She attended, and later taught, water aerobics. The gym where she swam offered her an actual paying job to teach once a week. Mom was so proud and thrilled at age 83 to cash her $10.00 a week check. The pool summoned her one more time. Four days before she went home to God she was in the pool doing laps. Mind you, she wasn't just floating around, she did 15 laps. She was so strong.

Mom sure could tickle the ivories. Boogie Woogie was one of her favorites. She masterfully played the piano at every family function.

Her passport was full. Moms love of adventure stemmed from her childhood when her father would come home from his business travels with glorious calendars from exotic places. She wanted to see everything and go everywhere. Her conquests included all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, most of Europe, Africa, The Middle East, and The Caribbean. She even made it to Cinderellas' castle in Germany.

Cooking was not her forte'. Dinner was ready when the smoke alarm went off. If dinner took more than 20 minutes to make, it wasn't happening.

A good debate was her a must in her book. She was always told not to discuss politics or religion. But she disregarded that advice. Mom said that's how you get to know a person. The difficult topics needed to be deliberated. She genuinely wanted to get to know the person to whom she was talking.

Oh how Mom loved flowers. She had a garden center for many years. A yucca plant was in our front yard. A yucca plant has long spikes on the end. She said the name came from the plant because when it stuck you, it would giggle and say, "yucca yucca yucca". Mom was very frugal, but fresh cut flowers were a must, spare no expense. Even when her sight was failing, she always wanted blossoms in the house. Her sense of smell became stronger. She loved the aroma of flowers, especially lilies.
