Greenville - Mrs. Betty Jean Starks Corbitt, 80, of Greenville, passed on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital-Downtown.
Visitation: Monday from 11:00am - 12:00pm
Service: Monday, August 13, 2018, 12:00pm, Springfield Baptist Church, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Betty taught my son in second grade over 18 years ago, but she not only took an interest in her students she helped the entire family unit so the student could succeed. I know because she helped me. She helped me go back get my diploma , graduate, then she her husband and Pam Kroeg Bruce took time to come to my graduation to support me. Her caring has touched countless lives and her legacy lives on forever! She will never be forgotten! Thank you Mrs Corbitt for your dedication and love for your students and for people.

I am so sorry to know that I have lost one of my very best friends. Betty and I were as close as sisters for more than fifty years. I will miss her more than words can express. To John and Bruce, please know that my sorrow is exceeded only by your own. I will miss her for the rest of my life.
