Charles Timms Obituary

Charles Rayford Timms, 66, of 101 Stone River Way, died Feb. 15, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital.

A native of Abbeville County, a son of the late J.B. and Pauline Crawford Timms. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Mr. Timms was a graduate of the University of Southern Colorado, served on the Oconee County Council, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Seneca. He attended Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Karriker Timms, of the home; a daughter, Cindy Timms Borja, of Seneca; a son, Richard Dale Timms, of Columbia; a stepson, David Goodnight, of Salisbury, N.C.; a brother, Freddie Lee Timms, of Fountain Inn; three sisters, Ruth Bowie and Martha Hoertz, both of Abbeville and Marie Townsend Clark, of Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Paul M. Welch and the Rev. Don Corley. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Moonville.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church before the service.

The family is at the home, 101 Stone River Way, Taylors.
