Elizabeth L. Wheatley, widow of George Grady Wheatley, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Born in Greenville County, she was a homemaker and lifelong member of Rutherford Road Baptist Church who enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering where needed.

Surviving are a daughter, Vera Sweet; five grandchildren, Mandy Ellison, Connie Roy, Brian Sweet, Mary Elizabeth Bobo, and Gina Goy; twelve great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Wilson.

She was predeceased by a son, George Grady Wheatley, Jr.; two sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held at Rutherford Road Baptist Church on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 296464.
