I find it so hard to believe that Jack has been gone a year! The first thing I thought of entering Timmons Arena this year was how much Jack would have enjoyed this past season! He was so instrumental in helping me as a young coach and teacher at Hillcrest!

Lynda and I are so sorry to hear this evening of Jacks passing.
I often recall our time in SC while working at Cryovac and the kindness of jack and Audry extended to us.
Jack was very influential in my early career with W.R. Grace and was an excellent teacher for me. He was also my friend and a friend to our children which we will always cherish.
May Jack rest in peace.
Our love to Audrey and family.

Dear Audrey and Family,
I was saddened to hear the news yesterday of the passing of a beloved man, supporter and friend. Jack was "special"; the heart of a loving servant. He helped countless of people to aspire and reach their dreams. He will dearly be missed, but live long in my memory of the man that loved Simpsonville and Furman University. " - Matthew 25:21

Dearest friends:
You know you have my deepest sympathy.
The influence Jack has on me is simply too big to describe. He was and still is a role model of personal character and public leadership for me. One Sunday
in Sunday school he talked about the Greek origin of the word "ethics". It has stuck with me ever since.
No doubt because he lived the word as well as he spoke of it.
Lovingly,
Tom Norrell

To the family, In my book there was no one as nice as Jack Powers. I worked for him at Cryovac and I never knew anyone as fair as he was. He always had a smile and a hello no matter where he was. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but one thing for sure he left this old world and went to a beautiful place. I know you will miss him but rest assured you will see him again someday. God Bless and give you peace.!!

Dear Audrey and Family--
Our condolences and prayers go out to you. Jack was a beloved man, and was a great friend to our family for so many years. Our family is forever grateful to Jack for his wonderful friendship to my father for almost 60 years until his passing in 2016. What a blessing and encouragement Jack was to my mother and to us all during Dad's longtime illness. I also have so many fond memories of visiting with Jack (and laughing at his great humor) during Furman games! Our love to ALL OF YOU!
