Jordan Barry Howard, 30 of River Falls went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 17, 2015.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of James Barry and Melinda Tolley Howard. Jordan was a 2003 graduate of Travelers Rest High School and the S.C. State Fire Academy. He was a Lieutenant with the North Greenville Fire Department having served since 2007 and a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Jordan is survived by his wife of 3 years, Amber Childs Howard; daughter: Aubree Nicole Howard; sister: Jessica (Joseph) Bridges; nieces: Bethany and Caroline Bridges; maternal grandmother: Linda Swords Clark and maternal grandfather: William Curtis (Kathy) Tolley; paternal grandmother: Betty Barry Howard; father-in-law: Gregory Childs; mother-in-law: Angela Masters Childs along with all his Brothers at The North Greenville Fire Department.
Jordan was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Benjamin G. Howard.
A visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary in Travelers Rest.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Marietta First Baptist Church.
Burial will be at the Howard family cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The Jordan Howard Memorial Fund at any branch of The Bank of Travelers Rest and/or The North Greenville Fire Department, 923 Tigerville Rd., Travelers Rest, SC 29690.

Barry, I think often of you and the death of Jordan. I met Jordan only briefly when he did my yard work but I knew he was a fine young man. He was raised by wonderful parents and was a believer in Jesus Christ. So we will see him soon! God Bless!

I remember Jordan as a very polite and hard working young man. I met Jordan when he came to do some yard work for me in 2014.

Hi Amber, Tracey the nurse here. I still drive by your home on occasion when seeing home health patients or going to Jones Gap to hike with my dogs. I always say a prayer and I will never forget Jordan or you and the extraordinary events that happened over those 2 days. I hope your and Jordan's baby girl, who is growing, I'm sure!, are well. I am so sorry for your devastating loss of Jordan. You continue to be in my prayers, thoughts and heart. My brother is a firefighter in Las Vegas, my sister's name is Aubree's middle name, and we are a motorcycle family from my Dad passed on to all of us.
