Ruby Poole Obituary
Pelzer
Ruby Garrison Poole, 95, widow of James Ralph Poole, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Pembrook Bizzell "Bud" and Ollie Bell Davis Garrison. Ruby was a graduate of Asheville Women's College and later pursued her Master's Degree at Furman University. She retired from the Greenville County School District where she was an elementary school teacher for 33 years, having taught most of those years at Eastview and Sue Cleveland Elementary Schools. She was a life-long member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Piedmont.
She is survived by two nieces, Diane Garrison and Joye Hamby (Rickey); a great-niece, Miranda Owens (Jeff); and a great-nephew, Adam Hamby.
She was predeceased by her brother, Carl Benjamin Garrison.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at the Garrison Cemetery, Old Pelzer Road.
Memorials may be made to the Rehoboth Baptist Church Building Fund, 1620 Old Pelzer Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this time. Ruby was a inspiration to teachers and students. She was soft spoken and loved her family, who I got to know through "Papa Carl "who was her brother and my Father-in-law. She left a lot of memories behind which will last a life time with her family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time. Ruby was not only a cousin, but taught me in second grade at Eastview. She lived a good long life here and now continues to live with her loved ones that went before her.
