John Nolan Obituary

John A. Nolan Jack or "the Goat", as he was known to his friends and family, died on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the age of 88 while under hospice care in Ft. Myers, FL. He was born in 1923 and raised in Greenwich, CT. In 1951, he was married in Cuba to the love of his life, Maria. Jack served in the Navy during World War II, loved big band music and baseball, and was a fan of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. He worked as a salesman for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Stamford Ct. Jack and Maria retired to Fort Myers, FL in 1978. After 60 years of marriage, Maria died recently and so they are finally together again. He was a devoted husband and father, loved by his family. Survivors are his daughter Elizabeth, and son John (wife Nancy), and three grandchildren, Tiffany (husband Richard), Christopher and Max. We will miss him very much. Memorial services will be announced later on. Condolences may be offered at www.national cremation.com

Thanks for being the best grandpa a girl could have. You and grandma taught me more about life than words could ever say.

Dear John and Elizabeth- Your parents were a part of my life as long as I can remember. I always looked forward to my dad (Bob Barnes) coming to visit us on Sanibel so I could see him laugh about the old days with Maria and Jack. You and your family have lost two of the best people ever this year and we are so sad for your loss. Keep all the happy memories close. Hugs from, Elise (Barnes) Kennedy

John it's been a very long time since your father would drop you off for our baseball games at Central Junior High on Sunday's. The games would go on for most of the day and your father was always interested if we had a good time. I remember going to Sears in Stamford and he would always say Hi. Very sorry for your loss.
