Joshua Graham Obituary

Graham, Joshua N.
Joshua N. Graham, died unexpectedly on September 30, 2014 from an apparent heart attack. Josh, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, was born on November 18, 1946 to the late Florence A. Keith and Joseph F. Graham II. He was the beloved husband of Pamela Cogghill Graham and the proud father of Joshua N. Graham, Jr. and Jonathan C. Graham. He leaves his brothers Jonathan W. Graham (Frances) of Palm City, FL and Joseph F. Graham III (Cheryl) of San Francisco, CA, a sister Jennifer Keith Urbahn (Trey) of New Canaan, CT, nephews Keith Urbahn (Kristin) of Washington, DC, Max Urbahn and Alex Urbahn of New Canaan, CT. as well as a niece, Elise Walters (Jonathan) of Stamford, CT, and a nephew Paul L. Graham (Anna) of Woodside, CA. Josh graduated from Greenwich Country Day School, Brunswick School, Georgetown University (BS) and Fordham Graduate School of Business Administration (MBA). Josh began his banking career at Lazard Frères and Goldman Sachs. His entrepreneurial spirit and banking experience, together with his early passion in telecommunications and information technology, led him in 1979 to found and later take public Electronic Mail Corporation of America (EMCA). EMCA is considered by many as the world's first commercial email services company where he served as chairman and CEO. From 1988 to present Josh was managing director of FrontLine Capital, LLC, providing private equity, strategic advisory, and business development services to early stage companies. In 1998 he was founder and CEO of Telnext Communications LTD (Bermuda), a next generation IP based telecommunications carrier with facilities developed in over a dozen countries. Most recently Josh had been involved in several projects in Asia.He will be interred in Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.

I met Joshua while working for start-up on the upper-west side of NYC. He was the "grey-hair" of the group since he possessed the wisdom and knowledge of business. The term was one of endearment and not of disrespect in the 90s. I still remember my conversations with him, the way he carried himself, and his fatherly way of speaking. It is amazing how we touch so many lives without knowing the long team impact. I was in Greenwich this past weekend and his name popped into my head so I figured to search for him. I am saddened but I also know that he lived a long life. Pam, I met you once and remember the brilliance of your smile. I am truly sorry for your loss. A man does not live long but his memory lives on for an eternity.

Hello Pam,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I was shocked. I have so many fond memories of the days he would come into our insurance office, especially when he brought you in for the first time. We were so happy he found such a wonderful lady.
My sympathy to you and you family.

Pam & Family -- Very sorry for your loss. Josh and I were "best friends" through 5th Grade, and at the 45th GCDS reunion we picked up right where we left off...that was Josh, and I feel privileged to have known him.
