Lisa Lyon Obituary

Lyon, Lisa
Lisa Branjord Lyon, 56, a resident of Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away on December 25, 2013. She was born on December 21, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lisa is the daughter of Orlan Branjord and the late Patricia Branjord.
Lisa grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She earned her Master's Degree in International Business & Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.
Lisa held a real estate license. Most recently she was affiliated with Weichert Realtors in Greenwich, Connecticut.
During her careers with Dorr Oliver Inc., Nukem, and the Principle Financial Group she traveled to 35 countries. She was also fluent in four languages. It was during her travels that she developed many interests. Lisa was a spiritual person who explored the teachings of Buddhism and Reiki.
Through membership in the P.E.O., Lisa helped to support many philanthropies. The P.E.O. Sisterhood maintains six major educational projects supporting women. Her desire to help others was evident through her involvement in this organization.
Lisa was enamored with knowledge, was an extremely intelligent person, and was always interested in global news and events. While she has been taken too soon, we may take comfort in knowing she left a footprint in our hearts and along the paths she traveled in life.
She is survived by her daughter Stephanie A. Lyon, her son John R. Lyon III and former spouse John R. Lyon II, all of Greenwich, Connecticut; father Orlan Branjord (West Des Moines, Iowa), brother Don Branjord (Des Moines, Iowa), sister Laura (Tim) Schwarz (Clive, Iowa). Lisa is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Branjord.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, 254 East Putnam Ave. Greenwich, CT. The service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00A.M. . The burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church Greenwich where Lisa was an active member for many years.

I'm so very sorry. I was thinking about her and Googled her and found this. We were good friends in both Tucson (U of A) and in Phoenix when she attended T-bird. I missed her immensely when she moved to CT. She was an incredibly smart, perky, funny person and I loved her. My sincerest condolences.

Stephanie and John - Your mom was a very special person and someone I will always have a tremendous amount of respect and good memories. Lisa volunteered for many years to help with our Christ Church Homecoming Eucharist and Lunch for shut-ins. Very caring and loving person. My heart goes out to you both and feel that she is now free and made whole once again in Heaven. Much love, Mark Fitzhugh
