Mildred Dianis Hroziencik of Greenwich passed away peacefully at the Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home on August 26, 2014 at the age of 101. She was born on January 4, 1913 in Byram, CT. Mildred was a 1929 graduate of Greenwich High School. She worked many years as a bookkeeper at the United Hospital in Port Chester, NY. Mildred was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram as well as a member of the Mary Martha Guild, Church Women United, the Byram Garden Club, Glenville Seniors, the AARP #3020 of Greenwich. Mildred volunteered for many years at both Greenwich Hospital and the United Hospital in Port Chester. She was one of the first recipients of the Greenwich Community Volunteer Leader's Award. She is survived by her sister, Matilda Moore of Stamford, her three children, Rudy Hroziencik, Jr. (Peg) of Greenwich, William Hroziencik (Marjorie) of San Mateo, CA and Diane Peck (T. Carl) of Greenwich. Her eight grandchildren, Susan Hinckley (Tim) of Scituate, MA, Michael Hroziencik (Patti) of CA, Lisa Stathas (David) of CA, Scott Hroziencik of CA, Timothy Peck (Kelly) of Old Greenwich, Jill Hroziencik (Frank Sardo) of Fairfield, Amy Selmi (Chris) of CA, and Karen Brady (Scott) of Morris, CT. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Rudy Hroziencik, Sr., her parents, Joseph and Susan Dianis and her brother, Walter J. Dianis. Friends may call at Castiglione's Funeral Home on Friday, August 29th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY.
