Paul Chiappetta Obituary

PAUL ANTHONY CHIAPPETTA - passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006 in Chula Vista, California. He was born in Stamford, CT on February 17, 1922 and was the son of the late Pasquale and Madeline Chiappetta.

Paul graduated from Stamford High School class of 1939 and was a WWII Veteran serving in Italy and Phillipine Islands as a medical corpsman and was awarded the Bronze Star. Paul was retired from the US Postal Service in Garden Grove, CA after transferring from the Stamford Post Office. He loved to perform in local theater groups in Chula Vista, CA and to anyone that was willing to listen. He was an actor at heart.

He is survived by his two daughters, Frances Nylander and her husband James; and Barbara Schapel and her husband Stephen, and their two sons Erik and David. He is also survived by a brother, Louis Chiappetta of Madison, CT; and a sister Vita Chiappetta Longo of Stamford, CT.

He was predeceased by his wife Ida Campo Chiappetta; three brothers, Laurence, Joseph and Robert Chiappetta; and two sisters Sylvia Burriesce and Marie Remy.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Community Mortuary in Chula Vista, CA. A gravesite Military Service was held at the Riverside National Cemetery in Sun City, CA on Friday, February 24, 2006.

My condolences go out to Louie, Vita, Frances, Barbara, Erik and David.

Paul was a great guy and very much young at heart.. He well be missed

AN OPEN LETTER TO CHIP

Paul Anthony Chiappetta

Dear Chip;

I’m sorry that I didn’t E-mail you for several weeks. I was under the weather and didn’t want to

bother you with that. Our correspondence has always been on a cheerful positive side.

A few weeks back, when you had called me on a friday and left a message on my machine, you

were on the road to some where and said , “you would not be back till after monday.”. I called

that tuesday but did not get through..

I knew that your birthday was coming up, I always made it my business to send you a card.

So I sent you one. You should have gotten it on your birthday, the 17th. of Feb. You left us on the 18th.

Sorry, I didn’t know you were so sick. You never indicated to me that you were .

I am going to miss you and will never forget you. I’ll will be looking for your E-mails..

Bye for now, Chip, God has you now.
