Peter Johansen Obituary
Peter M. Johansen, 79, a resident of Greenwich, CT, died June 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born May 12, 1938 in Port Chester, NY to the late John and June Mick Johansen, Jr. He was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1956. Mr. Johansen served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. He was married July 10, 1965 to Andrea Kowaleski at Holy Name Church in Stamford, CT. Mr. Johansen was a painting contractor and owner of John C. Johansen, Inc. in Greenwich. He was a parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church in Byram, CT and was a member of the parish council. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Port Chester and member and past president of the Greenwich Builders Association. He was predeceased by his brother John Johansen. Mr. Johansen is survived by his wife Andrea Johansen of Greenwich, CT and sons Peter Mick Johansen of Greenwich, CT and Timothy Alan Johansen and his wife Karen of Port Chester, NY. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich, CT. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greenwich Hospital Home Hospice, 500 West Putnam Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830. www.greenwichhospital.org
