Scott Decker Obituary
Scott F. Decker, 52, of Stamford passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1964 to the late Allan F. and Sylvia Pastyk Decker.
Scott was an accomplished Ball Room dancer for many years. He won several awards and strived to perform at his best at all times. His dear girlfriend Nancy Seidman was his dancing partner for the last year. He was also a highly skilled, self-taught classical guitarist. Professionally, he was an Account Representative at MSC Industrial Direct. He was a very kind and helpful person to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his sister Cheryl Decker of Norwalk, his cousins, Christina Culmone and her husband Jim of NJ and Linda Fox, as well as two step-brothers Rob Laug and his wife Terri of Norwalk, Eric Laug and Gene Hawkins of CA, a step-sister Kelly Deeley and her husband Chuck of Easton, CT and his step-mother Barbara Decker of Stamford. Besides his parents, Scott was predeceased by his sister Arlene Miller.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Scott's memory to the AFSP, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 1005

Scott was a good friend to me and everyone he came in contact with. I was a friend of Scott's back in Junior High. He always had a big heart and went out of his way to be kind to everyone. He loved Pink Floyd back in the day, and turned me on to a lot of great music I still listen to. My deepest condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. -Shine on you crazy diamond. Wishing you eternal peace my old friend.

I am so sorry for the loss of Scott. He was a great friend, a sweet person and a true gentleman. As a fellow ballroom dancer, I have had the pleasure of dancing with him and taking classes with him almost every week. I will miss him greatly -as will all in the ballroom community. He has helped me out on many occasions and has touched the lives of so many people. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I was saddened to read this today, regarding Scott's passing. He was a patient at the dental practice I worked at. I will always remember Scott, as a sweet caring person. My thoughts are with you Cheryl.

I enjoyed working with Scott since I met him while he worked at the bakery in Greenwich. Scott was a very thoughtful person and was very well liked at MSC.
