Ingeborg Helene van Bakel, beloved wife of Adrianus of Calgary, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Ingeborg loved the outdoors and was active in hiking, swimming, biking and her church St. Pius X. She made many good friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Besides her loving husband Adrianus, Ingeborg is survived by her four children and their spouses Michael and Serena, Monique and Scott Wilkinson, David and Laura and Daniel; grandchildren Madison, Kaitlyn, Nicholas and Benjamin; two brothers Helmut Gassen and Herbert Gassen and sister Lottie Gassen. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Heinz. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) today, June 1, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Ingeborg van Bakel, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

My sincere sympathy on the loss of such an inspiraational woman. I knew Inge through aquasizes, but we often talked about our mutual enjoyment of hiking and x-c skiing. I was very moved, at the funeral, by Monique's wonderful eulogy, and the way that she had something comforting to say to each of the grandchildren. Inge would be proud of her.

Inge & Adrian were avid hikers and I enjoyed many hikes with them over the years. Inge was a wonderful lady and will be missed by many. Condolences to her family.

Dear Van Bakel Family, How very sad we are that Inge died. She was the epitome of action and getting things done. We have had so many happy memories of her when all of you were younger. In fact while I sit here typing there are too many memories to put down. I know you will miss her.
