Lamar Stephens

Mr. Lamar Stephens, age 67, of Buford, GA passed away on June 1, 2006 from Pancreatic Cancer following whipple surgery four years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cline and Lester Bullock Stephens; brothers, Billy Stephens, J. C. Stephens, Roy Stephens and brothers-in-law, Dr. Marshall H. Everett and Mr. George Pitts. Surviving are: Wife of 28 Years: Mrs. Sharon Stephens, Buford, GA; Daughters and Son-in-Law: Tammy Vanderpool, Buford, GA, Karen Stephens Wigley and husband, Danny Wigley, Sugar Hill, GA; Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Tim and Mia Stephens, Buford, GA, Scott Stephens, Duluth, GA, Ronnie Stephens, Albany, GA, Kenneth and Dede Stephens, Flowery Branch, GA; Grandchildren: Brandy Michelle Stephens Hooper, Barbara Nicole Stephens, Chessie Diane Stephens, Austin Ryan Stephens, Karen Ashley Stephens, Keshia Marine Wigley Macias, Kyle Lamar Wigley, Kami Miranda Wigley, Amanda Stephens, Kenneth Scott Stephens, Jessisa Leigh Stephens, Brittany Lynn Stephens, Alexis Faith Summers, Phenix Jacob Stephens; Five Great Grandchildren; Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Mrs. Irene S. Everett, Loganville, GA, Carolyn and Vester Cantrell, Lawrenceville, GA, Elsie and Bill Pitts, Panama City, FL, Martha Pitts, Texas, Betty Stephens Hamby, Lawrenceville, GA; Brothers and Sisters-in-Law: Howard and Jean Stephens, Watkinsville, GA, Arnold and Kathy Stephens, Lawrenceville, GA; Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Stephens was a native of Buford, Gwinnett County, GA. He was born on March 23, 1939. He was owner of Lamar Stephens Custom Automobile Interiors for over 44 years in Buford, GA. He was a Member, Elder and Layman at the Buford Church of God. He was an avid fisherman and loved antique cars and restorations. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Buford Church of God with Rev. Edward Davenport, Rev. Terry Reece, and Rev. Len Pirkle officiating. The body will be placed in state at 3:30 p.m. Interment in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The Elders of Buford Church of God will serve as honorary escorts and will meet at the church at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon - 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by Junior E.
