Nolan Wallace

Mr. Nolan Wallace, age 68, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucile Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Shelia Adams Wallace, Buford, GA; Daughter, Susan Wallace, Buford, GA; Son, Smith Wallace, Buford, GA; Step Children, Rhonda A. and Darrin Dupree, Buford, GA and Wes and Tina Allen, Buford, GA; Grandchildren, Shealee Dupree and Ali Dupree; Sister and Brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Boone, Buford, GA; Brother, Larry Wallace, Parker CO; Nieces, Becky Martin and J. J. Wallace; and Nephew, Glenn Wallace. Nolan Wallace was born July 11, 1940 in Gwinnett County, GA. He was a 1958 graduate of Buford High School and a member of the All State Football team. Nolan excelled in Track and Field. He was an avid Buford High School football fan and he loved attending the games where he reminisced with old friends. He attended Southern Tech and Georgia Tech. He was a retired engineer from Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners after 25 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buford. Nolan's love for his family & friends was known to us all. He loved animals and was known for giving any stray a great home. Rocking on his front porch or working in his garden, Nolan loved the outdoors. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Shepherd Spinal Center, 2020 Peachtree Road, N.W., Atlanta, GA 30309 or to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, N.W., Duluth, GA 30096 in memory of Nolan Wallace.
