I have been to the Barn on several occasions and enjoyed Roger's wonderful style of fiddlin'. I know he must be playing sweeter music in heaven.

(Revelation 21:3-4) . . .. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. . .

...deepest sympathies go out to Sandra and all of Roger's family. The Music Barn will NEVER be the same without Roger anchoring that left side of the stage...as a "family" member for over 30 years, he was more than just a singer, a great banjo and fiddle player..he was a loving husband and a friend to everyone he met...

My husband, Wilbert Hyde who has known the Everett brothers for many years, enjoyed going to the Barn in our dating years. We always loved seeing and hearing the wonderful talent there. roger and Randal will both continue to be missed. May the joys of past times bring peace to those who are grieving.

Roger will be missed. We just heard of his passing. He was always so nice to my kids, (Wes and Jessica). They will always remember him and Randall and how they encouraged them to chase their dreams and play Bluegrass. The World was a better place because of the Everett Family. May God be with each of you during your time of mourning.

Roger had the respect of me and countless others --both as a musician and a good person. The loss is great. But what a GAIN for we who knew him and heard his music!

Mrs. Everett, I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Everett's passing. He was such a special patient here. He was always positive and cheery, even when he was feeling his worst. I will always remember him as such a brave man, fighting against everything he had to come up against during the time I knew him. It was an honor and a priveledge to help him in any way I could when he was here - even if it was just faxing something for him!! He was so sweet and I will miss him dearly. Please know that you and your family are on my heart and in my prayers. Please know that you can call me if you need anything. Allison Grayson

Sandra- So sorry for your loss. Some of my best memories of North Gwinnett- are w/ you and Roger/ standing in the hallway at recess. Roger was always so quiet and thought you and I were nuts. My sincere thoughts are with you. Love, Kathy Pass Buice.

Sandra,
I am so sorry to learn of Roger's passing. I remember you both from your days @ North Gwinnett High School and it seems like yesterday..But that was many years ago. I know you & Roger had 42 happy years together. Remember those and he will always be in your Heart. God Bless you & give you comfort thru the next days ahead.

Roger was my 1st cousin and even though I have never visited the barn, I saw him and Randall at the Oconee Civic Center several years ago. They were great and I regret that I have not seen them in years. We used to visit Uncle Lee and Aunt Carrie when I was small and I never forgot the times we had on those visits. Roger and his music will be surely missed by all who know and love him. May God bless the family he leaves behind.

The first time we saw Roger at the barn many years ago, he was playing the banjo (Don was on vacation). His timing and playing were flawless. Upon returning to the barn the following week, we discovered what a wonderful fiddle player he was. We will miss Roger's presence and all that he contributed to the barn for so many years. The Everett Brothers singing, and the harmonies were wonderful. The angel band is smiling to have him, as we are sad to have lost him.

Roger was a strong influence in my life. Indeed I credit him and his brother Randall with saving my life by showing me a joy and love of bluegrass, gospel, and classic country music.
They were masters of all. Roger was a fine musician who could and did play all the instruments on the bluegrass stage. Plus he could sing any part.
He could hold is own with any banjo player, and his fiddling prowess was know throughout the bluegrass community, and therefore, the world.
Roger was the quieter of the Everett Brothers, but led the band with his expertise in music, part singing, and band dynamics. Well played music comes from intuitive interaction among the musicians, and Roger was among the best at it.
Roger's passing will indeed leave a big hole in my life, but he also leaves a big legacy of recorded music, clips on YouTube, and an army of people he touched throughout the world that will help fill it.
