Shirley Ann Bagley Appling, 84, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, James R. Appling; and grandsons, Corey Appling and Ezekiel "Zeke" Appling. Mrs. Appling is survived by children, Tim and Beverly Appling of Florida, Janet and Dale Burrell of Lawrenceville, GA, Glen Appling of Buford, Paula and Michael Jamieson of Suwanee; grandchildren, Kelly and Seth Hawkins, Ryan Burrell, Christen Hughes, Christopher and Jessica Jamieson; great grandchildren, Logan Hawkins, Cooper Hawkins, Joy Jamieson; sister, Bobbie Bagley Nucholls of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Appling was born on September 20, 1937 in Buford, GA. She was a 1955 graduate of O'Keefe High School in Atlanta. She had worked for Egleston Children's Hospital as a receptionist, and also for Munford, Inc in the accounting department for thirteen years before retiring. Mrs. Appling enjoyed her children and grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her the most. She was of the Baptist faith. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Appling officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 9 from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at noon.
