Adrian Benzing Obituary


News Death Notice

BENZING, Adrian age 92 passed away Monday September 28, 2009. He was born January 28, 1917 in Hamilton the son of the late John A. and Kathryn (nee Witters) Benzing. On January 14, 1939 he married Beulah Forman and she preceded him in death in 2007. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in the 102nd Infantry Division as a combat engineer in Europe. Mr. Benzing was a 1936 graduate of Hamilton High School. He worked as a millwright at Champion Paper in Hamilton for 46 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamilton since 1930. He is survived by his children, Carolyn (Ted) Millice of Reno, Nevada, Richard (Susan) Benzing of Lakeside, California, Cheryl (Bernard) Kues of Cincinnati, Constance Reid of Monroe, and Robert Benzing of Middletown; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Cross of Hamilton and Barbara (Allan) Blevens of Fairfield. He was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter Nichole, two brothers, Eugene and Gerald Benzing, and one sister Rita Murphy. Visitation 5-8 PM Thursday at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday October 2, 2009 at the funeral home with Dr. Dennis Metzger, officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park with full military honors. To my cousins and other family. I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's death. I wish I could have been there for the funeral to honor his life and see you all.
