I knew him when he was a young NCO (E5-E6) and I was an even younger Private. He was extremely professional, didn't accept excuses, and at the same time had an easy laugh and was joyful. He was a great example of leadership and someone to emulate. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Last month I pinned on LTC and at my promotion ceremony I thanked all the NCOs that got me here and the first and most important of them all was Ben Moore. The first NCO that took me under his wing and made sure I wasn't ate up. To Mary and the family you guys are still in my thoughts everyday and he is with me everyday I put on this uniform.

I been out of touch with Cpl Moore yes I said Cpl because this is the rank that he held when we were in the same company in Germany and then we both went to fort hood I truly owe the start of my military career to Him when I was a Pvt he took me under his arm and lead me in the Wright direction. I ran into him as SSG out in NTC and he was the op force and again he helped me with good sound advice. I only wish I could've served under him after he made CSM. Maybe in another play because where ever he is he is going too used for his best potential to LEAD FROM THE FRONT. I realy miss this MAN

I did make it an obligation to see you a couple months ago when I visited Andre in DC. Such a beautiful scene however I wish you were meeting me there in the flesh. My son served under CSM Benjamin Moore in the 3rd ID in Iraq. He called me several times from Iraq and I was impressed that he gave me his cell # and e-mail address. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I had comfort knowing that the lives of not only my son, but all the other soldiers were in Ben's capable hands. He called me one time and said " Tom, I hate to ask you cause I am a professional soldier"! I interrupted him and said " Ben, you only have to say what you need"! He replied" they only thing we need is an American flag"! "We have no flag for our troops to salute in the morning and evening"! I went the next day and purchased a huge American flag and took it to our church and had the members write words of encouragement in the stripes. He later sent me pictures of the young soldiers reading the scriptures written on this flag! The last time I talked to him he was in Hawaii and then my son called me and told me my Friend had died! On November 20, 1965 a baby boy was born in Blackshear GA, to the late Benjamin Moore and the late Ethel Moore. He graduated from Waycross High School in Waycross Ga. Joined the military soon after graduation. Served his county for 26/27 years. Our mother taught us to work hard for what you get. How proud I were of you being a very successful man. Andre' always looked up to you, and love you so much, thank you very much for all you have done.We all love you and you will always be in our memories.Happy Birthday in Heaven Benny, just think, you would have been 48 years old! Love you.

Hello Benny, I know it seem like all your sibilings had forgot your birthday, but that not so. I was in Savannah with your neice Paige which were very sick, but she is improving. I told her today is Uncle Benny birthday, he would have been 47.
The holidays are fast approaching, inspite of, we have to give thanks for what GOD has already done, and will continue to do in our lives. Not a day go by without thinking of you, I love you and miss you. Your kids are doing the last time I spoke with their Mom. I'm quite sure Marcalus is tall as can, and Krystal"Krissy" is 18 now. I too served with CSM Moore in A Co 4/16 and have fond memories of serving with him.

I served with CSM Moore twice. First while he was working for the 11Mike school at fort Benning and I was a brand new Private. Next he was my Squad leader in Germany with A Co 4/16 INF as well as Operations Desert Shield/Storm. He and I were both strong willed individuals and we continuously bumped heads. But I remember him as being fair and I learned a lot from him. I was saddened to find out that he had passed. RANGERS FORWARD!

Three years from today and my heart is still heavy from the loss of a very good friend. However, I know you are in a better place and is enjoying your company with the Lord. Rest in peace CSM Moore.......Gone but not/never forgotten.

You inspired me to push farther and pick myself up when I was down! I will never forget when you helped me get my Expert Infantry Badge by keeping the Judge busy while I did my last challenge!
