HOWE, Calvin E. Age 63, of Ocala, Florida died October 6, 2006 at Shands Hospital, University of Florida in Gainesville. He lived in the West College Corner, Indiana area most of his life. He worked at Union County Farm Bureau Co-Op in Liberty, Indiana for 26 years and retired in 2004. After retiring he and his wife relocated to Ocala, Florida. Calvin was a history buff and enjoyed collecting military relics. He also loved trap shooting and collecting animated wooden bottle stoppers. He loved people and had a great sense of humor and dry wit. Making people laugh was a joy to him. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan Heavenridge Howe; sister Becky Weller (husband Bryce) of Ocala, Florida; son-in-law Dennis Hartman (wife Nancy) of Hamilton, Ohio; nieces, nephews and many friends throughout the country. Calvin was preceded in death by his only daughter, Kristi Ann Howe Hartman, his mother Lois Howe Melvin, his father Charles N. Howe, and two sisters Anna Mae Shell and Iona Monzella Booher. Memorial services will be at the United Methodist Church in west College Corner, Indiana on Sunday October 22, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the United Methodist Church in West College Corner or the organization of your choice.
