David BAUER Obituary
News Death Notice
BAUER, David J. Longtime Fairfield resident David J. Bauer, a teacher, coach, and administrator, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 16 at age 58. He died in the care of Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash. A loving husband, top of the line father, teacher, and coach, Dave bravely fought kidney cancer since April of 2012. Dave lived his final days with optimism and a sense of humor-as he always had. Bauer is survived by his wife, Mindy Bauer (Kincer); daughter Kelcey and son Jay; sister Anita Mcpherson (Curtis), brother Kenneth Bauer (Patricia), and brother Tom Bauer (Lisa). He is also survived by his in laws Hal and Verna Kincer, and brother in law Vic Kincer (Georganne). He was preceded in death by sister Linda Bauer and parents Jane Ann (Westrick) and Kenneth Bauer. The family would like to thank Dr. Ed Crane and staff for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Dragonfly Foundation for Children's Cancer, 9275 Governor's Way, Cincinnati, 45249 or to the Dave Bauer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Visitation will be on Monday, April 20 from 4:30 - 7:00 in the Fairfield High School Arena. A Celebration of his life will follow. Dave and I were room mates in college and played basketball together at Cumberland. I have so many fond memories of Dave and his family. My heart is heavy today having just learned of Dave's passing. What a privilege it was for me to have known just a fine man. Mindy, may God bless you and your children during this very difficult time.

Dave was truly a wonderful individual who touched many lives as a teacher and coach. The grace and humor that he carried as he fought his illness was extremely inspirational. Dear Mindy, Jay and Kelcey,
David is top-notch in every way possible. The world won't be the same without his wit and his smile. I'm glad I got a Bauer hug last fall at Elaine Polson's service.
Bauer will be missed by so many.
Back in the 80s I had a Nissan Maxima that "talked". Bauer loved it when I pulled into the middle school parking lot and the lady voice would say, "Your door is ajar" or something to that effect!!
