News Death Notice

McGEE, Dora Loretta March 31, 1929- June 28, 2011 (Ross, Ohio) Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Brutus McGee, in 1988. Loretta is survived by her sons, Michael McGee (Englewood, Florida), Gary McGee and his wife, Ellen Reyes McGee (Oxford, Ohio) and Mark McGee and his wife, Tammy McGee (Jacksonville, Florida). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: A.J. McGee, Leslie Ann McGee, Sean McGee, Sheena Marie McGee, Weston McGee, Cooper McGee, Tara McGee, and one great-grandchild, Paige Mattern. The deep-felt love and caring of the Dr. Federico Reyes family (Hamilton, Ohio), Ellen Reyes McGee's mother, brothers, and sisters were greatly appreciated by Loretta and Loretta's family. They all were family to Loretta. Loretta was also preceded in death by her mother, Nora Alice Hammons Patrick; her father, Chester Patrick, Sr.; and her siblings Zelma Patrick, Dorothy Patrick, Chester Patrick, Jr., and Raymond David Patrick. Loretta is also survived by her sisters, Gloria Holmes (Phoenix, Arizona), Juanita Rowland (Memphis, Tennessee), and two brothers, Clyde Patrick and Donald Patrick (both of Hamilton, Ohio). Loretta will be missed by all of her family (immediate and extended) and her many friends. She will be remembered for her companionship, warmth, generosity and her caring about others and always putting the feelings of others ahead of her own. She never spoke ill of others and surely never had anyone speak badly of her. Loretta shall be remembered as being a wonderful wife, a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a kind mother-in-law, a compassionate sister, aunt, great-aunt and a precious friend. Her warmth and desire to help others will never be forgotten. In the end, it was best that her suffering in this life came to an end. In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to Hospice of Cincinnati in memory of Loretta. Hospice employees' love and caring in her final days were greatly appreciated by Loretta's family and friends. Visitation shall occur at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with service immediately following. Burial shall be at Millville Cemetery beside her beloved husband, Brutus. www.browndawson.com

You will always be our "Aunt Dickie" who never new a stranger, who never let anyone leave her home hungry and who never forgot to tell her family she loved them. For all the wonderful things you did and said for me and our family, I will always love you.

You were such a loving and caring person and a wonderful Aunt. I will never forget the days when we used to go to "the farm" and look at all of the beautiful double pink peonys. You were loved by so many and will be missed by all. Please give grandpa and grandma a hug from me, I miss them so much. Take care, I will see you again. Love you.
