It was with great sadness that I heard of Gordon's passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss. I have so many happy memories of our times growing up on the Boulevard. We were so blessed to have the community that we did and your family was an important part of it. May God bless and keep you in his care and comfort you during this time.
With much love and sympathy,

To the Mathews Family,
Gordon was a very smart and interesting person. I had the pleasure of sharing our grade school years at Whittier Elementary and High School days at Dunbar High School. We were blessed to have Gordon at the Class of 1971 Dunbar High School 45th Reunion in the fall. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to you.
Sincere Condolences,
Flo Ann Tigner

To the Matthews family. I graduated from Dunbar High School in 1971 with Gordon. I did not know him very well at the time, however later in life he met my sister Vicky, and they became lifelong friends. We always thought of Gordon as part of our family. He was such a warm gentle spirit, who would help anyone. He was truly a good and kind person.May he rest in peace.

To the Matthews family. Please accept my deepest condolences. May knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many, bring a measure of comfort. We look forward to the time when all things that cause sickness and death will be eradicated by God's Kingdom. Matthew 6: 9, 10

Gordon was a genius, he designed a schematic drawing for me in 1977 for a toy I "imagined" I went off to D.C. with that drawing to seek my fortune. I always tell people about the guy on my street who was M.I.T. smart... Thank you Gordon for helping me live my dreams...
