Family-Placed Obituary


MAYO, James William Of Dayton, Ohio was born on September 19, 1927 in Macedonia Ohio, to the late Clarence and George Etta Mayo. He was called home on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. "Bill", as he was affectionately called, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired employee of AK Steel. James is preceded in death by his wife, Jensie Mayo; daughter, Jeana Mayo; brothers, John, Charles, Laurel, Garland "Pete", George and Ovinton "Sam" Mayo; and sisters, Margaret Ross and Georgianna Anderson. He leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Tia and Erik Mayo; daughter Diane Linthicum; son, Rahn Mayo and a host of family and many special friends. Funeral service 12 noon, August 17, 2007, Green-Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel, 532 S. 2nd St., Hamilton with Rev. Victor Davis officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

I WORKED WITH JIM FOR MANY YEARS AND I THOUGHT THE WORLD OF HIM AND HE SURELY BE MISSED BY CO-WORKERS THAT BECAME HIS FRIENDS!

I worked with Jim in the late 70's and early 80's and thought highly of him. He was a very thoughtful and caring person. He will be sadly missed.
