News Death Notice
EICHHOLD, John O. "Jake" Age 94 of Fairfield passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at his home. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 26, 1921, the son of Eugene and Catherine (Kiffmeyer) Eichhold and was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. On May 11, 1946, in St. Ann Church, he married Elaine "Becky" Beck and she preceded him in death on September 23, 2008. Jake was a co owner of the Ohio Taxi and Baggage Company retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Ann Church and the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council. Survivors include four children, Mary Lou (Mike) Sanders of Entiat, Washington, Ann Rulon of Fairfield, Jean (Clyde) Carter of Hamilton, and James (Becki) Eichhold of Hamilton; nineteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Richard "Dick" (Jane) Eichhold. Besides his wife, Becky, he was also preceded in death by three sons, Thomas Eichhold in 2009, George Eichhold in 2011, and John E. Eichhold in 2015; two brothers, Louis and Joseph Eichhold. Prayers will be offered at 10:00am Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am Tuesday in St. Ann Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Ann Church.
