Lou was the beloved husband of the late Diane Ruth (nee Keller) Eichhold, who predeceased him just eight months ago after 52 years of marriage. Together, they cultivated a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will resonate through the hearts of their family forever. Lou leaves behind his devoted children, Becky (Alex) Albrinck, Lou (Nicki) Eichhold, Bridget Eichhold, and Christopher "Ike" (Christy) Eichhold, as well as his adoring grandchildren: Kate (Austin), Abby, Lou, Mandy, Ben, Jack, Kyan, Iris, Sylvia Lou, along with his cherished great-grandson, Theodore.
He was a loving brother to the late Clare (Tom) Gump, Betty (late Frank) Thesing, the late Tony (Connie) Eichhold, and George (Peggy) Eichhold. Lou is also mourned by his sister-in-law, Tina Keller, and the late Timothy (late Suzanne) Keller.
Lou dedicated his professional life to the field of Human Resources, but his true passions lay beyond his work. He was known for his remarkable ability to rehab old buildings alongside youth groups, instilling invaluable lessons and memories in the younger generation. When not working with his hands, Lou found joy in nature, whether it was tending to his garden, hiking, or indulging in a round of golf. Indoors, he delighted in cooking. An active Catholic, Lou went to daily mass, distributed communion to the sick, and participated in Serra Club of Cincinnati and OCIA.
At the heart of Lou's life was an unwavering faith and a deep commitment to family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, a reminder of the importance of love, service, and community.
Visitation will take place at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 2553 Banning Rd., Sunday (January 4) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 North Bend Rd., on Monday (January 5) at 11:00 a.m. Loved ones and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Lou's life, sharing stories and memories that honor his spirit and the profound impact he had on all who knew him.
Lou lived a life rich in meaning, grounded in his values and faith. Even in his last days he spent his remaining energy on praying for others and sharing the gospel message, even to our beloved hospice workers. He was actively involved in his community and supported various organizations that sought to make a positive impact. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Life Issues Institute, P.O. Box 785, Florence, Kentucky 41022 or Mt. St. Mary Seminary, 6616 Beechmont Ave.,
Cincinnati, Ohio 45230 or EWTN, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210, which was a life line to his faith during his months under hospice. These contributions reflect the values Lou held dear and will help continue his legacy of service to others.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Lou not only for his countless contributions to those around him but also for his incredible zest for life. May he rest in peace, cherished forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
