SCHERER, Judith E. Leverton Age 60, Liberty IN, died at Fayette Memorial Hospital, Connersville on Friday, October 6, 2006. She was born in Lafayette, IN on September 9, 1946 to James C. and Elizabeth M. Steinmetz Miller. She has lived in Union County for the past 29 years. Mrs. Scherer was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church and the Indiana State nurses Assn. She graduated from Fowler High School and the St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Indianapolis in 1968. She was a Registered Nurse working most of her career at Fayette memorial Hospital, Connersville. Survivors include her husband, James C. Scherer, Liberty, Sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Mary Leverton, Richmond, Chad Leverton, Florence, KY and Mike and Jodi Leverton, Springfield, MO, daughter Dawn Moore, Madison, IN, step-daughters and husbands, Melanie and James Nuckels, Batavia, OH, Beth Knotts, Liberty, Janell Scherer, Richmond, Mother, Elizabeth Windler, W. Lafayette, IN, brothers and wives, Richard and Elaine Miller, Arlington, VA and William and Pam Miller, W. Lebanon, IN, sisters and husbands, Bonnie Hales, Ft. Myers, FL, Karen and Tim O'Bryan, Lafayette, IN, Mary Lou Miller, Denver, CO and Rebecca Miller, Sarasota, FL, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Liberty, IN with Fr. Stan Herber officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Richmond, IN. Friends may call from 5 until 8 P.M. Tuesday, at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty, IN where contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Lung Cancer Research for Women or to St. Bridget's Catholic Church.
